The ALGES laboratory has launched the first version of the Diploma in advanced modelling applications in mining and metallurgy in collaboration with the Department of Mining Engineering of the University of Chile. The objective of this programme is to provide mining industry professionals with knowledge and criteria for decision-making in projects involving advanced modelling based on artificial intelligence and learning techniques.

The system is based on the HyBEL tool, which is an estimator based on Stochastic Imaging Spectroscopy (SIS), a model for the estimation of geological and metallurgical variables.
Read MoreThe collaboration with IDIEM has been explosive and very positive. We are carrying out 6 tests with different materials provided by IDIEM using the hyper spectral technology. The system which has been successfully tested with several mining operations between 2019 and 2020, is useful for quick estimation of variables that characterize a sample since its physical and chemical properties.
