SGS Minerals Chile and ALGES have won Innova Corfo funding for the construction of a portable hyperspectral laboratory.
An Innova Corfo collaborative Crea y Valida project was awarded to SGS Chile for ALGES to build a portable laboratory for hyperspectral estimation of geological and metallurgical variables. The system is based on the HyBEL tool, which is an estimator based on Stochastic Imaging Spectroscopy (SIS), a model for the estimation of geological and metallurgical variables.
The project includes the validation of the system in collaboration with SGS customers in large copper mining. In this context, a collaboration agreement has been signed between the University of Chile (AMTC) and SGS Chile, which is an important step for the transfer of the technology involved in this project.
